TANGY BBQ CHEESE STRAWS
Are you looking for a cheesy snack with a difference? Here’s a spicy idea using Tangy Barbeque Spice that’s sure to wow your taste buds!
Preheat oven to 200˚C
INGREDIENTS
1 ½ cups flour
150g soft butter
2-3 teaspoons Tangy Barbeque Spice
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ cup milk
METHOD
• Using your fingers, rub butter into flour until the mixture looks like bread crumbs. Alternatively, mix with an electric beater on low speed to get the same result.
• Add Tangy Barbeque Spice, grated cheese and baking powder, mix with a spoon.
• Stir in milk, mix well until mixture makes a soft dough.
• Roll dough about 1cm thick and cut strips about 8cms by 2cms.
• Give each strip a few twists to make a cheese straw and place on baking tray.
• Bake at 200˚C for 15mins or until cheese straws have turned golden brown.
• Serve hot or cold.
